In my career, I have had the honor of working with a vast array of populations to include hospice patients and their loved ones to adolescents entrenched in gangs and substance abuse.
From hospice work I moved into long term care settings where I had the privilege of working with the senior population and their loved ones. Then I transitioned into the mental health arena in rural Colorado where I worked with the severe and persistent mentally ill. I also worked with families and individuals who were simply in need of therapy as they tried to confront the pressures of work, finances and family dynamics.
While working at the mental health agency I was offered the opportunity to serve as an Intensive Family Therapist for the Department of Social Services in rural Colorado. Here I was able to work directly with clients in their homes, which afforded me the opportunity to see and help families in their primary living space.
